Bear Market Got You Down?

Making money during bull markets is easy. Simply stay with the trend as the stock market moves higher. The challenge is protecting your profits and your portfolio during bear markets and major corrections. You can lose a huge amount of money if you don't know what to do when the market suddenly shifts direction.

The TSP Lifecycle 2010, a "set it and forget it fund" for investors planning on retirement in 2010 lost nearly 15% of its value in 12 short weeks between August and November 2008! If your retirement is in sight, can you afford such gut-wrenching volatility?

Looking for Guidance?

Simple asset allocation and Lifecycle (targeted retirement year) fund strategies haven't served you well in recent years. And tools to help you make smart choices with your Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) investments in response to varying market conditions just aren't available from advisers whose strategies have withstood the test of time.

For these reasons and our own personal connection to family members serving our country via active duty military in Iraq, US Department of Defense, US Postal Service, and US State Department, we are very pleased to now offer you TSP advice.

It's Not Too Late To Make Smarter Choices...

TSP is a tax-advantaged, defined-contribution retirement savings plan for civilians who are, or previously were, employed by the US Government and for members of the US uniformed services.

Each issue of The Mutual Fund Strategist provides six-month charts of the F, C, S, I, L Income, L 2010, L 2020, L 2030, L 2040 funds - not the indices that these funds attempt to track or other proxies - but the actual funds themselves with their 50-day/200-day averages and a "momentum indicator".

If a TSP fund is trading above its 50-day average and its momentum indicator is positive (above the zero line), then odds favor higher prices ahead over the intermediate-term.

We also provide 10-, 50- and 100-day performance data along with a relative strength ranking so you can see how your investment stacks up against other TSP funds in terms of current price momentum.

Take the Guesswork Out of Your TSP Management

If you require more hand-holding, take advantage of our newly-introduced TSP Portfolio. We'll provide you with specific fund recommendations. The status of our TSP Portfolio is updated in each weekly newsletter; "Hotline" alerts with fund changes are emailed between issues, when necessary.

Our TSP Portfolio recommendations take into account that TSP participants are limited to two “interfund transfers” per month with subsequent unlimited transfers only to the G Fund.

Lacking the time, discipline or inclination to manage your own TSP account? We offer a managed account service for Thrift Savings Plan accounts. Managed TSP Portfolio 2008 Return: +0.8% net of fees. Actual results, not hypothetical. Our minimum investment requirement is $250,000 and our annual management fee is 1.5%. Please contact us to learn more. We require your name, US postal service address, phone number and email address before we can respond.

28 Years of Investment Experience Working for You

Mutual Fund Strategist has successfully managed risk for more than two decades. During the "crash" year in 1987 our subscribers came out ahead by 23.5%. according to Hulbert Financial Digest. We successfully maneuvered around the 2000-2002 bear market. And we just ended 2008 with our investment capital essentially intact, awaiting an entry point in US equities at what might retrospectively be considered bargain basement prices. Why spend months or years digging out of a hole, possibly even postponing your retirement, when you could be accumulating profits instead?

Please note that Mutual Fund Strategist Ltd is not affiliated with, authorized to sell or represent on behalf of, or otherwise endorsed by the federal employee benefits programs referenced on this web site or by the US Government or US uniformed services.
